Filling in a cloze text about a song performed live and asking questions in the foreign language - this is the sort of thing you'll do on the «school is cool»-tour.

Every year, there are two tours (1x French, 1x English). Each tour lasts for 3 weeks, during which we will visit around 65 schools and over 6,000 students in Switzerland.

Since 2007, more than 100,000 students in over 900 school visits have already experienced «school is cool» live in class - completely free of charge for the school! The goal is a lesson in which students experience first hand that speaking foreign languages - even if not 100% perfectly - works, is cool and is fun with a cool, foreign music act. Students and teachers as well as the media are excited.

Instead of a conventional language lesson (45 min) in French or English, a singer or band visits secondary, district, canton schools and high schools in German-speaking Switzerland (about 65 schools / over 6,000 students over 3 weeks). The visits take place in the classroom, lecture hall or in the gym. The teacher prepares the class prior to the visit (studying the visitor's biography, website and lyrics etc.). Questions that can be asked during the visit are prepared (in the artist's language of course).

The artists visit the class on the agreed date. In the first part they perform two songs - there is a competition using a cloze text about one of the songs. Students fill this out (during the live performance). The teacher will then correct the lyrics after the visit and give the winner a cool, instant prize. There is then a large final draw as well with a fantastic grand prize (Boa Lingua language study trip).

In the second part, the students ask their questions. The lesson consists of the questions / answers. No-one has to be able to speak the language perfectly - it's fine to make mistakes. The artists also try to speak a few words in German - with the help of students.

Finally, each student receives the «school is cool» tour poster and the opportunity to get an autograph and photo with the artist.
